24k Gold-Gilded Buddha Shakyamuni Sculpture for Meditation
Delicately handcrafted in our workshop, the Buddha Shakyamuni Sculpture is intricately designed with unique Nepali motifs. Copper-based Shakyamuni Buddha's body is covered in 24-karat pure gold. The statue is gilded gold and has a beautiful sheen. He rests on a moon disc lotus with an alms bowl on his left lap. The Buddha is depicted performing the 'Buhumisparsa Mudra' or the 'touching the Earth' hand gesture, representing the moment of the Buddha's awakening as he claims the earth as the witness of his enlightenment. His serene expression is highlighted with acrylic paints.

Siddhartha Gautama was born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom and nurtured to be a king in line with his royal father's aspirations. However, when he was around 29 years old, he learned about people's tremendous pain. He abandoned his palace life and gave up his magnificent robes and gold to uncover the reasons for this anguish and the methods to alleviate it. After nearly six years of study, self-deprivation, and severe concentration, he achieved his aim. He had attained enlightenment (a Buddha). He claimed to have then proceeded to a deer park in Sarnath (Benares), India, on the outskirts of Varanasi.
