Crafted from an oxidized copper body and partially gilded with 24k genuine gold, which highlights the intricate design patterns of the statue are highlighted. The historical buddha is depicted seated atop a moon disc lotus seat with an alms bowl over his lap on his right hand with his characteristic calm and peaceful appearance. He performs the 'Bhumisparsa Mudra' with his left hand, representing one of the most important moments of Buddha's life, i.e. when the Buddha achieved enlightenment as he claimed the earth as his witness for it.
