This Rare Tibetan Dzambhala Statue was carved by hand and elegantly painted with pure 24k gold. The artist had worked dexterously on the design of robs, faces, and many other essentials. It took more than a month to complete this sculpture as the color combination, composition of jewels, ornaments and turquoise artwork is remarkable. Dzambhala is depicted with a wrathful expression, seated atop a sun disc lotus throne. In his left hand, he holds a mongoose (Nehulay), and in his right, a medicinal citron fruit. Dzambhala was born many eons ago in the world known as Hoetzer Jyapa, which means "a hundred light rays." Famines, natural disasters, and wars were unheard of in this region of enormous abundance. In this most fortunate realm, the Buddha Nime Shel spread Mahayoga teachings. Jambala hoped that he would be reborn as a god of wealth throughout this wealthy life, with the noble goal of helping the poor and unfortunate.
